Other media might drive a fast and high response to ads. But print is the only media that generates the most costumers. What print ad offers you is the opportunity to educate your costumers about your products and current specials. When a person responds to any ad its because they know about the product. An effective way to have your customers respond to an offer is to create an offer to educates the consumer about the product they you are trying to sell. Remember that there is a more natural response to print ads and to pickup the phone to call the advertiser.
What matters the most in print advertising is Consistency! After that comes creating an appealing offer for your customers.
Studies show that the print ad response is as follows:
1-2 issues 57% response
2-3 issues there is an additional increase of 35%
3-4 issues an additional 10% increase
at 5 issues something special happens. The ad response pretty much establishes itself to a steady response to your ad. Not much decrease or increase, unless your offer changes.
If you don't see a response to your ad after 3-4 issues. Your offer and ad display should be changed.
Print advertisement has the highest closing rate for offers offered. Then the internet follows with 40%, then radio with 30% and lastly t.v with 20%.
The newspaper future is much stronger than people gives credit for. Because publications can adopt more response mechanisms.
So for those people that say " I don't do print advertisement " I say but you do take new customers.

The Best Business Advice Ever: Don't Undervalue Your Product
Helping a business grow and keeping it thriving in good and bad economic times are no easy feat. You have to have not only a good idea or product, but drive and determination no matter what bumps you come across. When you start your own business you will also get a lot of advice most unsolicited. You will find some is good and some not so good. Let the word ring in your head "not to undervalue my product" will keep you strong. Like many other small business it is hard to compete with the prices of large chain and other stores. I cannot tell you how many times I have had to explain the advantages and qualities of our services and products. It took some time but the more exposure my newspaper got word of mouth grew and with rave reviews I gained more and more devoted customers.
